![]() Note that ticktick is not anymore half the price of todoist but only 10$ less. The widgets are more powerful with ticktick but the filter with custom query of todoist help create a very personalized view that helps me much better. If that would be this way, that would be a game changing because better planning was a reason for me to switch from todoist. That would be great because I would be able to create a bunch of tasks and then planning which one I want to do based on an available timeline in my day. I was thinking that would be that I can add a duration without a specific moment. In other words, duration equal you have to specify the time of the day that you want to start the task. Also, duration means for me duration but in the app, this mean from that time to that time. On the upgrade options page, we can see a textbox where we can enter the duration in hours/minutes but this doesn't looks like to be in android app. ![]() Sadly, the duration in easy view change with 10 minutes step and use the drag with finger which is cumbersome in my opinion. I was expecting something great with the duration option. When you have an important task tomorrow, with this view, you will see it immediately. With ticktick, in day view, you can only see tasks of the day when with todoist, there is a scroll bar that when you scroll down, the automatically change the day which is in my view really great. The day, 3 days and week view are very tiny on phone even with my Samsung galaxy note 9. I didn't find in ticktick a view as slick as the "upcoming" in todoist. What is the point if I type "730" vs "1930" if ticktick interpret both the same way? With todoist, the natural language is supported everywhere both when adding or editing a task.Īlso, when I typed "at 730", it's interpreted as 19h30 which is not a problem with todoist. I mean, when you are on the planning tab and you hit the same plus button at the bottom, the page that appears to add task doesn't support natural language. Note that the natural language is only working for new task and just into the task list tab. The natural language is far less better than with todoist. I'm a long time user of todoist and I paid this morning to the premium version of ticktick just to see if it can beat todoist but sadly not. Todoist lets you pin favourite lists, tags and filters TickTick has habit tracker and pomodoro built in TickTick has a calendar view and you can choose to display colours according to lists, tags or priorities TickTick lets you view events from any calendar in TickTick, Todoist has a two-way sync with Google but you have to pick projects for it to sync and it’s really unreliable - I prefer the way TickTick lets you just import events from any calendar TickTick has limited options for filters but a menu you can use to build them, Todoist gives you way more freedom so long as you can code it yourself TickTick lets you choose what shows in the app badge, what days you get a daily agenda alert and what times you get it TickTick has task templates, Todoist has project templates TickTick has task durations (this is definitely a premium feature) In TickTick recurring tasks have new uncompleted subtasks whereas in Todoist you have to uncomplete them manually ![]() TickTick has both checklists and nested subtasks TickTick has task descriptions as well as comments, and you can also create notes Todoist now shows section names in today on desktop TickTick has folders while Todoist has nested projects Some features are premium only but I don’t know exactly which. Here are some of the main differences - in some cases Todoist may be better for what you want, it depends on the individual. I’ve spent a lot of time with both and I prefer TickTick.
